The New Era Project

Documenting the 2017 Solar Eclipse at The Research Triangle Park...

Can't believe it's almost 2 yrs now, since the 2017 Solar Eclipse...

Decided to finally upload a somewhat personal video that I had recorded when I worked at IBM-Seterus at The Research Triangle Park, on Aug 21st, 2017. (Being that I don't work there anymore). This is sorta' like a Video Journal of that event, which interestingly turned out to be, pretty much the beginning of the end of another chapter in my life...

I have been unable to find the Seterus website anymore, which is why I only referenced the link above, where you can read some of their glowing reviews. Because of that, I am probably going to have to reference my own customer reviews while I worked at the company here: Customer Appreciation Awards for Vito Masilotti...

Seterus is (or was?) a Mortgage Servicing company, primarily for Fannie Mae loans. Having worked in the Mortgage Servicing Industry for over 10 years, I learned allot. In more ways then one. There IS allot of corruption. No doubt about it. What has been revealed in the news (and on social media) is really only the tip of the iceberg. Believe me. And when you're cut from a differnt cloth and all (just looking for a decent job) it therefore can be quite challenging, to say the least. As it seems to particularly attract a certain kind of individual (if I can be frank) who may really not be on the level. O.K. I'm going to come right out and say it: It has a propensity for attracting Career Criminals! Depending to some extent on the company, and really (as much as I love Real Estate myself) by the very nature of the business itself. Let's face it, and most of us already know (like the financial industry itself) that it's rife with greed, scams, and fraud. Hence, the reason why it often attracts a bad element to begin with. And the corruption often runs deep. (If you know what I mean?) But anyway, never-the-less (to be kind, but honest) I can still remember working at one particular, large mortgage servicing company for example, where many of us knew the derision allot of the homeowners had for the government loan modification program that was initiated by the Obama administration (and how it really fell short, to be kinda' frank) during the housing and foreclosure crisis of 2008 (thru around 2010) while still having to do your job and help them as best as you could under the circumstances, as it really would personally break your heart, hearing some of the stories and the human suffering that many of them were going thru, and where you would really wish you could do more; knowing that in countries like Iceland for instance, they were actually arresting those who were behind the fraud, with the government (thru the protests of its people, who were demanding the prosecution of the criminals involved, including those connected within the government itself) eventually forgiving a huge part of the mortgage debt. In other words, basically bailing out the homeowner (and taxpayer) instead of the big banks! Who, themselves, were the primary cause of the financial crisis to begin with...

I also have to say (to be quite frank) that I thought that IBM's choice (which has long been known as a computer technology company) to acquire a company like Seterus (which is a mortgage servicing company no less) was rather odd, and was quite surprised when I first found that out; in addition to it becoming such a significant part of its business, and income. Just sayin'...

The Answer - Digital Single Release

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."  (The Bible).

Once again, this was also one of the first tracks that I recorded on my home porta-studio, back in Walkersville, Maryland, around November of 2005...

Lydia's Dream - Digital Single Release

"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."   -Edgar Allan Poe

This was also one of the first tracks I recorded (and experimented with) on my home Porta-Studio, back in Walkersville, Maryland - that I finally decided to release as a digital single. Once again, click the image to check it out...

The Long, Lonely Road - Remixed Digital Single Re-release

This song turned out to be exactly 4 minutes and 23 seconds long. That's: 4:23. (In other words, if you were to turn the numbers around, it would line up in order as: 2, 3, 4. And the track was officially released on September 23rd. (The number of seconds in the song). Hmm? (I'm sure it's just a coincidence and probably means nothing, but is interesting never-the-less).

But anyway, you can read about the inspiration behind the song at CD Baby, (the online distributor), by clicking on the image above. As well as, on my blog, here on my website - for some more information regarding the track...

The AMI Radio Interview...

Did a phone interview with Robert John at AMI Radio today. It will air on Thursday at 6:00pm EST on July 20th, for those who live in the Ana Maria Island, Florida area. However, from what I understand, the interview will also be available for a listen at the Media Rare & Uncut  page on the AMI Radio website. Just click-on the picture above to check it out. Robert is a great guy, and is a really gifted interviewer, I have to say, and very professional. He really knows how to put you at ease and never makes you feel uncomfortable with his questions or comments. I felt like I had known him for years, which is another great quality of a great interviewer. Of course, the fact that he is also from Long Island as well, didn't hurt, and left allot of room for conversation. Great website too. Specifically geared toward the Independent Artist, but with some other really cool and interesting stuff as well. Check it out...

Update - July 22nd, 2017

You can now listen to the HTML5 (Mp3) Audio file of the interview right here, by clicking-on: 'Read More' - at the bottom left of this post...

New Domain Name

My official website now has a new domain name: TheNewEraProject.com

There will still be the alias domain names like: CarouselRecords.com and VitoMasilotti.com that would still lead one to the same website, but the new primary/host domain name is no longer VitoMasilotti.com but once again: TheNewEraProject.com - Which I believe better expresses the vision, and which I think is sorta' like more descriptive and searchable...

And, being that TheNewEra.com has already been taken, from what I understand, much to my surprise by the way, because I do believe, to the best of my knowledge anyway, that I was the first to use that name to begin with, some years ago already, (before anyone else mind you), never-the-less, I still like the sound of: "The New Era Project." I kinda' think there is still like more you can do with it then the former .com name anyway. (God willing).

I am also going to let TheNewEraBand.com alias domain name eventually expire when it comes up for renewal. And I am still not sure, at this point in time anyway, if I am going to continue with the now alias domain name: vitomasilotti.com either, but that is still some months away. And I still plan to use the name: "The New Era" for brand identification, as I have been doing for all these years now, going back to my days playing out live on Long Island, with so many different musicians and all, as it still has that sentimental value for me; as well as, being representative of that unique sound we sorta' like developed over the years...

New Music Player/Sub-Store on The Sub-Page of the Buy Tab

Due to functionality and design changes with the Music Player widget application, (and as the previous widget has been retired), a new Music Player/Sub-Store has been added to the Buy-Sub Page Tab. Check it out...

Everyone has a story...

Sure enough, just as I mentioned in my most recent blog post about Autumn and all, quite often being a season of changes, one way or the other, (which I am not going to get into here), as nature also seems to mimick in its own way, with the changing of the seasons, and the transition of nature reflected in the fall colors, all I am going to say for now is that: "everyone has a story." And whether one is famous or not, I choose to believe that every life and every dream is so important and precious in its own way, as long as the intentions of one's heart is in the right place. I think this song so brilliantly captures that concept (and message), and just thought I would share it here, as a somewhat unspoken update to my own life's journal, and maybe even quite possibly, in its own way, as with some of the other things that I have written and shared here, at least: "something worth leaving behind..."

Reprise II-The Next Chapter...

Posted a somewhat simply put-together home-made Music Video on my Blog and Sidebar, (at the time of this posting), just to keep things a little up to date for now. And, "the next chapter continues"...

Goodbye Aunt Anna, you will be greatly missed...

I would like to pay tribute to my Aunt Anna, who had finally lost her battle with cancer today, by posting this song here. Just thinking about her brings back so many memories...

I so much regret that I wasn't able to see her since I had left Long Island,, just about 14 yrs ago already. I will never forget her. She will be sorely missed. My prayers especially go-out to my Uncle Pat, and my cousins: Vickie and Joann. I am deeply saddened by her passing, for more reasons then one. You see, while she had cancer, her husband, my Uncle Pat, is suffering with Alzheimer's Disease. I would like to ask people to pray for him please...

This is such a sad thing. But I pray, that the angels at least, now lead my Aunt Anna's spirit to paradise, and everlasting peace...
