The New Era - Father Christmas (Reprise)

A Christmas character of English folklore and myth. Father Christmas is the traditional English name for the personification of Christmas. Although now known as a Christmas gift-bringer, and typically considered to be synonymous with Santa Claus, he was originally part of a much older and unrelated English folkloric tradition.

The recognizably modern figure of the English Father Christmas developed in the late Victorian period, but Christmas had been personified for centuries before then.

English folklore consists of the myths and legends of England, including the English region's mythical creatures, traditional recipes, urban legends, and folktales. Father Christmas was therefore, somewhat considered to be, like the embodiment of the spirit of Christmas itself, and in some cultures even became somewhat synonymous with the legend of Saint Nicholas...

Here is an ambiguous musical tale of a wanderer (leaving familiar surroundings and embarking on a journey) who then becomes lost in the wilderness during the holiday season. Encountering the benevolent Father Christmas along the way, he asks for his help in finding his way back home. A little while later, several other like-minded young wanderers also approach Father Christmas, and ask him for the same favor; which through his miraculous intercession, ultimately brings them all together again, for an emotional reunion in a place that they dreamt of, and which they can now all call home...
